A Cigar Factory

Cuban Quality…Right here in the USA

A Cigar Factory in Miami

EL TITAN DE BRONZE

Calle Ocho y Avenida Once
Taking a break while on a recent fishing expedition to South Florida, I stopped at 1071 SW Eighth St. (corner of 11th Ave.);  I was welcomed by Sandy Cobas and her husband Jose Parades like I was a long lost “Primo”.

El Titan de Bronze (305-860-1412),. Sandy’s father Don Carlos Cobas established this unique “fabrica” which is still run by his family.

All the cigars sold here are made on the premises, by eight “Level 9” rollers, all of whom have worked for world-renowned Cuban factories such as Cohiba, Romeo y Julieta, Corona, and Partagas, among others. Each cigar is crafted in the traditional Cuban style of tubing “entubado” the filler, this process as
opposed to “bunching” the leaf is accomplished by the roller making tubes of the filler, insuring an evenly packed full leaf fill, which ensures a perfect, even, full bodied burn for maximum taste and enjoyment, only then is the cigar finished off with a beautiful triple cap. This process is completed by using only the most superior tobaccos from Nicaragua (Aganorsa), Dominican Republic and Ecuador. These cigars are made in small quantities to ensure perfection and consistency that only an ultra-boutique manufacturer can produce. Each roller is limited to 100 cigars per day to maintain quality, and each day’s work is then inspected by another Master Roller/Blender to guarantee that each cigar is of the highest standard for the aficionado. El Titan de Bronze™ delivers a taste and quality rarely found in smokes manufactured outside of Cuba.
The interesting name translates to "The Titan of Bronze," a colorful nickname given to a very tough Cuban general named Antonio Maceo Grajales, who fought Spain for Cuba's independence in the second half of the nineteenth century. A century ago, before there were national cigar brands, most smokers bought their cigars at corner cigar factories like this one.

All cigars are rolled with Cuban-style entubar long leaf filler tobaccos, wrapped in a double leaf binder and finished with a triple cap – a mark of the highest quality cigars available today.  Ask your favorite cigar vendor to order in a box or two just to see how quickly they fly off of the shelves, then you can enjoy this 90 plus rated smoke in your own time and place.
